Core-Focus movement sessions combine Pilates’ core alignment principles with yoga’s mindfulness and awareness to create strong and somatic sessions designed to have you move in your unique flow.
The movement option of sessions is intended to restore, rebalance, and re-tune you, helping you feel stronger and more energised. Additional guided meditations, silent restfulness, pranayama (breath work), or Reiki healing can be used to calm the mind and further restore peace.
Moving mindfully, or somatically, means that we pay attention to what happens moment by moment. This directly works with our nervous system and permits a dialogue between mind and body, heightening our ability to move in a way our future selves will thank us for. It also gives a voice to those parts of the body which keep going ‘wrong’ without apparent reason.
Another means of giving voice to parts of us which keep hurting or niggling is through the use of psychotherapy, which can be simply talking, or also utilising the body or the arts. Various modalities are only ever applied depending on what you want to explore; consent and a trauma-informed stance are at the heart of the work.
Focus your physical exercise on longevity and strength. Focus your mind to enhance your potential and feel better about who you are, and focus your energy; pour yourself into what you choose rather than your circumstances.
Build your confidence and improve connections with yourself and others. Core-Focus sessions are about feeling great from the inside out, whether in a 1:1 Pilates, therapy, or personal wellness session; a public class, or a corporate group.
Pilates is an amazing way to get strong and supple. Leave it to Christine to create the perfect session for you.
