Do I do it for me, or for you?..

formeoryou

The conflict, or the reflection about doing what you need to do to fulfill yourself, whilst being conscious about the needs of others.

The ultimate internal dilemma I (and maybe you) face regularly with regards to, ‘should’ I do this because I want to or ‘should’ I do that because it’s a nice thing to do for An Other..?

Is it about love and our relationship to ourselves and others?  Power dynamics?  Or perhaps emotions, or our sexual energy and desires?  Fulfilling our right to feel certain things?  Or, is it about how we express our needs and receive the communications from others about their needs or desires?  As with everything one experiences in life, it’s all down to our perception..

Yet, with so many questions how can a decision ever be confident?

Truth being, we only do things for others if there is some kind of selfish motive in there somewhere anyway, even if this is as innocent as enjoying the warm feeling you get when you make someone else smile.  Also, if we’re not doing something which benefits us in some way; how can we 1) know it is really going to benefit An Other (only they know what’s best for them..) and 2) how will we ever get what we need?

If we fulfill ourselves does that mean we also have more energy and impetus to give when An Other asks?

Follow your heart..

Spring Plane Sailing?

plane sailing

Much plane sailing happening for you right now?  Or does the world seem to be throwing everything and more at you?!  See what you’re made of?  How strong can you be?.

All may have seemed quite quiet and as if plane sailing at Core-Focus too but, times are anything but that!

The Universe has beautifully sent me into Pilates teaching full power!  This combined with working hard at studying to add a Nutritionist qualification to my bow (in my aim to offer a well rounded and creative option for health) and gearing up for the new term which starts on Tuesday!!  I’ve not been able to catch up in my home let alone on this interweb communication!

High times; takes much focus, hard work and concentration given to each and every step and muscle movement – much like a Core-Focus class! 😉

Very excited.  Hope you can make it on Tuesday, sorry as are minimal details up for now (i.e. time, date, location) but they’re all in the cooking pot and it’s feeling pretty hot!

Love, thanks and more love to all those reading. x

Sex, Money, Love, Being?..

fears

What’s your most taboo subject?  What is it that makes you want to curl up and die inside when you hear a certain word or question in conversation?

Is it about love, especially your relation to it?  Sex, o that’s so improper..  Money, a private affair?  Feelings?  How much or what you’re worth?  Your addictions?  Loneliness? Fears?  Insecurities?

What are you most scared of opening up about yourself?

And why?..

I feel, the deeper we can get to the roots of our fears, then the best chance we have of liberating ourselves from them and moving on into the vastness of life.  Opening ourselves up to all the parts of it we’ve been too scared to explore before..

Start that conversation with yourself or with someone close by (even an animal friend)..  Feel the fear and break through it, we’ve only got 1 life in this body..

Asking for Help?

help

Do you ever ask for help?

Do you over ask for help?

An interesting question which keeps coming up with me, do we ask when we need help?

If not, why not?

Or, do we ask for help to often, i.e. before we’ve even sat down to try and work things out for ourselves?

Hopefully you’re the balanced sort, but personally I’m coming out of the place of never asking for help but still always giving it a lot when asked.  I LOVE helping people, it’s in my nature (funny that considering my occupation.. lol); so I meet a lot of people who either seem to ask too much or too little to assist in their optimal growth.

My main conclusion on this is that is comes down to trust – either not trusting ourselves enough or not trusting in others enough.  This has given me much space for reflection on my own trust ‘issues’ and it feels nice to see where I may be able to grow as a person by having more trust..

Sahasrara Chakra

Sahasrara

Moving up from Ajna Chakra..

Sahasrara chakra, the crown chakra, the last in our series looking at these 7 major, yogic (and Reiki) chakras.  Sahasrara meaning thousand fold and hence it’s symbolised by a 1000 petal lotus, located just above the crown of the head and is most associated organ is the Pineal gland.  It’s element goes even less tangible and is thought, thus it’s purpose is understanding and spirituality.  The colour for this chakra varies much through different sources from violet, to white or gold; but my appreciation and experience keeps me feeling it as white.  It is here that this world/perception meets with the wider universe and it is here we are able to feel that anything is possible if we choose to allow it; depending on what thoughts we feel we must hang on to also..

Balanced action in Sahasrara chakra may exhibit in a person as:

  • Intelligence, thoughtfulness and awareness
  • Being open-minded and confidence in questioning
  • Spiritual connection
  • Perceptiveness with wisdom

A deficiency in Sahasrara chakra however, can be seen as a person with:

  • Rigid belief systems
  • May have excess in lower chakras as energy is blocked from going up (e.g. greed, aggression, materialism)
  • A lack of interest or concern outside of themselves
  • Spiritually cynical

An excess in Sahasrara chakra may attribute to:

  • Spiritual addiction or head in the clouds
  • Overly intellectual, always over thinking
  • Confusion
  • Dissociation from the body/physical plane

Balancing or healing practices can be found in meditation, yoga (to either reconnect with different chakras), Reiki/Seichem, studying, becoming aware of where one may be too mentally rigid (talking therapies can help this).

I hope this might help the MASSIVE world of chakras to have a concise and tangible handle for anyone wishing to seek a little more balance in life.  If you wish to discuss the yoga course, Reiki/Seichem or other then my inbox is always open. 🙂

Much love, balance and harmony! x

Happy Easter? Pascha? Passover? Chocolate Egg Day?. Holidays!!

Easter

Personally, I was bought up as a Catholic.  Thus Easter was boring with lots of church visits but balanced out by chocolate bribes.

As I’ve grown through life I’ve learnt I’m not much a fan of organised religion, and although I believe that like Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna and such, Jesus was a real man who left parables in an attempt to point at something divine.  I don’t however believe in heaven and hell, except that which we create for ourselves in our own minds; but I do respect that everyone believes in what they feel is right, organised religion may feel good to you and I respect that too.

Easter for me now, is a great time when I can spend some more time with the people I love and choose to be around.  Thus, I wish all people, (whatever it is you celebrate, love, family, suffering, God, chocolate, bunnies, the Sun) a VERY exciting Easter Holiday time.

We’re also between a lunar (moon 14/04/14) and solar (sun 29/04/14) eclipses right now, a powerful time of year for all!

Create Space in Your Life, Let Opportunities Happen..

life

Nature abhors a vacuum, that is, an empty space.  Therefore if you have space in your life, new things will flood into it.

However, nature also tends towards balance and equilibrium, thus if there is already too much in your life nothing new can flow in.

TRUST in yourself and trust in nature.  Let go of what no longer serves you, and create space for more amazing things to come..

Or, if you don’t trust my word, Terence McKenna of course had a beautiful expression relating to this:

“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”

Live, like you only have this moment..

Ajna Chakra

ajna1

Moving our way up from Vishudda Chakra..

Ajna, meaning to perceive and command.  Located between the eyebrows and is associated to the pineal and pituitary glands.  It is represented as a 2 petaled lotus, each petal of which can be use to signify the unity of dualities, namely, sun and moon, feminine and masculine, yin and yang..  The colour most associated with this chakra are indigo and purple.

Now we’ve moved on beyond the more tangible elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether as we’ve moved up the chakras, Ajna contains all of those but thus it’s gross element is light.  The purpose for working through this chakra is to help break through illusions and recognise patterning which may be present within us so we can see more clearly; enabling greater intuition and self-reflection.

A person who is balanced in this chakra exhibits characteristics such as:

  • Astutely intuitive
  • Good memory as well as dream recalling
  • Perceptive
  • Good imagination and is able to visualise

A person who may be deficient in this chakra may be:

  • Have poor memory or dream recalling
  • Insensitive or in denial
  • Lacking in imagination and ability to see the future
  • Problems when visualising, physically poor eye sight and/or poor projection

Remembering, life isn’t straight forwards and thus one can be deficient or excessive in any or all chakras (and thus helping us to highlight where our path is for this particular embodiment); so someone who may be excessive in this chakra may have:

  • Delusions
  • Obsessions
  • Hallucinations or nightmares
  • Difficulty concentrating

Good practices for balancing Ajna are to explore visual arts (by creating or observing however feels best), meditation, dream work, visualisations and working with memory.

..And next we’re going to infinity and beyond with, Sahasrara Chakra..

Namaste x

The Gift of Teaching

 Teaching

It’s such a privilege to be able to teach anyone anything; the art of sharing by example (we’re all teachers of some form or another).

My aim for teaching is to offer my perspective on how I live with regards to what has bought me the most growth and/or joy, with the simple intention to highlight things to individuals which may promote growth and inspiration in their core.  To me, teaching is an offering, an offering of what one has in their soul, something one feels is worth sharing for the benefit of others.

Trial and error is one of the biggest teachers and no one can substitute ones own internal guru; however when our internal guru may become cloudy or a bit bogged down, I’ve always been grateful for having another’s pointing me in some direction so that I may again, find my way (even if at the time my ego may have hated them for it!).

Much love and gratitude to all those who continually keep shining a light on my path and who allow me to shine a light on theirs.

Suppressing Expressing

suppress

I can’t stand to look at their faces,

Avoid absorbing all the pain out in these places.

Why do they have to look like that?

I wonder why that guy is so fat?

That girl is well skinny, more like a rake.

O yes and she’s another covered in fake.

Why’s that guy’s face so red, and her eyes all black?

I’m not sure what their doing to make themselves look like that..

What are they eating?  What are they wearing?

What on Earth is it that they’re hearing?

Why everyday do I go out of my way

To suppress what I feel someone must say?

Why are you unhappy?  Why are you so sad?

There’s not an ounce in you that can be all that bad..

Your body may be heavy but your eyes still seem bright;

Please now reconsider this ridiculous fight.

The fight with yourself and the fight with your heart;

Do you not realise that you can’t live apart?

Your heart knows the truth, it’s easy you’ll see;

Let down your guard to who it’s urging you to be.

What we give we get back,

It is as easy as that.

Dominate, control,  and selfish greed;

Lusting after unnecessary ‘need’;

Give out sh*t, and that’s all we see.

Completely missing how amazing life can be..

Peace, Love, Shine
