Spring Plane Sailing?

plane sailing

Much plane sailing happening for you right now?  Or does the world seem to be throwing everything and more at you?!  See what you’re made of?  How strong can you be?.

All may have seemed quite quiet and as if plane sailing at Core-Focus too but, times are anything but that!

The Universe has beautifully sent me into Pilates teaching full power!  This combined with working hard at studying to add a Nutritionist qualification to my bow (in my aim to offer a well rounded and creative option for health) and gearing up for the new term which starts on Tuesday!!  I’ve not been able to catch up in my home let alone on this interweb communication!

High times; takes much focus, hard work and concentration given to each and every step and muscle movement – much like a Core-Focus class! 😉

Very excited.  Hope you can make it on Tuesday, sorry as are minimal details up for now (i.e. time, date, location) but they’re all in the cooking pot and it’s feeling pretty hot!

Love, thanks and more love to all those reading. x

Happy Easter? Pascha? Passover? Chocolate Egg Day?. Holidays!!

Easter

Personally, I was bought up as a Catholic.  Thus Easter was boring with lots of church visits but balanced out by chocolate bribes.

As I’ve grown through life I’ve learnt I’m not much a fan of organised religion, and although I believe that like Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna and such, Jesus was a real man who left parables in an attempt to point at something divine.  I don’t however believe in heaven and hell, except that which we create for ourselves in our own minds; but I do respect that everyone believes in what they feel is right, organised religion may feel good to you and I respect that too.

Easter for me now, is a great time when I can spend some more time with the people I love and choose to be around.  Thus, I wish all people, (whatever it is you celebrate, love, family, suffering, God, chocolate, bunnies, the Sun) a VERY exciting Easter Holiday time.

We’re also between a lunar (moon 14/04/14) and solar (sun 29/04/14) eclipses right now, a powerful time of year for all!

LOVE and more LOVE xx

Building life a new

Change

Nutrition, movement, fitness and food have been fastidious points in my life since I can remember.  How exciting it feels for me to be working with them in a more organised and structured manner!  As well as having the potential to not only further optimise my own condition, but the general health of others too!

By working with my TRUE passions and my husband and community; I am finally able to let go of my financial safety blanket (which I am very grateful to have had); checking out of the full-time office role and into following my excitement!  I feel very blessed and grateful for this opportunity I’ve created along with much support from my husband, you and everyone else in this community, and believe strongly that when following ones TRUE PASSION, with FOCUS, DEDICATION and FULL ATTENTION; we can literally achieve ANYTHING..

Much love & thanks

Full Moon (this Sunday)

 fullmooo

The full moon occurs when the moon is directly opposite the sun and thus when it’s interaction with the sun is at it’s strongest.  It’s notorious with many that the irregularities which occur on a full moon are of significance; this super charge of energy however, can come out as insanity if not noticed and meditated upon accordingly..  Or, it could be seen as an opportunity to help the fruition of our goals which were set at the new moon, with this additional energy helping us to see and develop beyond any current obstacles.

Happy weekend to you, much love 🙂 xxx

Spring Awakening

spring awaken

Finally March is nearly here!  We’ve made it through the coldest times!! Now to ditch the excess eating and hibernation habits.

The time is here to reawaken the spring in your step and put your best intentions forwards and into action.

What are you hoping to achieve this year?

Unless you’ve been in a cave you’re probably aware that we’re all undergoing a massive shift right now; from living in the head into the heart, the left side of the brain easing up to the right.  Many people and places are having great shake ups to help dispel the pain and oppression we’re coming out through now.  From Fukushima to Kiev, Venezuela to Iraq; Indonesia to Syria, Snowden to Assange; London to Berlin; the dolphins, the rain forests and needless frackin’..

Now is the time we need to consult with our real selves, our nature deep down, so we can be aware of the truth of our business and can get on with doing the things which truly matter to us..

The best and only place we can start is with ourselves – Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation (however you like to find your head space)  all help to tune into our truths; which can then take us closer to our real futures and each other.  Feel the Love in Life.

Namaste, have a sparkly day 🙂

Why I’d rather read a book over a newspaper

book not news

People,  keep saying ‘We need to keep up to date with what’s going on in the world’.  I agree, awareness and information is key.  But I disagree when it comes to what is shared via the mainstream papers and magazines and here’s why:

I don’t see a point to reading fiction, as in made up stories, when there are so many real life experiences and lessons which I could delve into and learn, be inspired by or have fun with.

To me, the mainstream papers and magazines are very similar to the made up stories you find in fiction books; except with a fiction book you get to choose the style of story you want to read.  Pretty much all the mainstream papers and magazines, the news, focus on negative and destructive stories, which seem to be intending to scaring people into believing we need identity cards, war, and plastic surgery; or, that we should work harder and longer, so we can afford newer and better cars or shoes.

Why would one want to inflict these kind of messages on ones self and wind up all depressed by thinking of death, comparing ourselves to people who appear to have more than us, and thus forgetting how totally awesome we are?  Especially first thing in the morning.  Instead, personally, I’d rather be celebrating life and all the amazing people, places, things and such in it!

If I do see ‘news’ I hope it’s information to share awareness about how I can help to make this world a better place for my family and children to grow up on; shining a light so I understand where I can be a better human; or telling me about the successes people are having in creating hemp plastics, healthier skies and happier homes.

I Choose life 🙂

No Teacher this Weekend!

Teachers-Away-Remember-to-Play3

Dedicated Yoga Students give it a go, unsupervised (full points for effort!)

I’m not teaching tomorrow.  Please don’t mix posture practice with alcohol whilst I’m absent!

Have a happy weekend and hope you get to enjoy the Sushi and Super Sound System at Brilliant Corners in the meantime.

Classes resume as normal Tuesday 10th (6.45pm) and Saturday 14th (10.30am)

Thank you!

So much thanks to the people who have given me love and support over the last couple of years and helped me to realise and then continue to achieve my intention of further sharing Love and Happiness with the people I meet.  Yes I know – I’m a bit of a tree hugger but hay – we can’t all be tuned into the same frequency but I’m happy with that.  Who wants to be the same as everyone else!?  That’s why we’re all born different. EXPRESS YOURSELF 😉  Class is a great place to get expressing this through your interpretation of the yoga postures I’ll take you on a journey through during each lesson.

Thanks to Aneesh, Ahmid, Samantha and the wonderful crew at Brilliant Corners!

Now the hard work starts, promoting the classes and seeing who is in the right space and time to learn some tools for delving deeper into themselves and discovering the space where ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE 😉

Also, HUGE thanks also to Mr Kay Suzuki for helping me to make this all possible– producer, dj, promoter, marketing expert, chef, love bringing and entrepreneur.  Arigato Kay and big thanks to all reading this x

More Class Prep: Aromas and Love

blog-post-2-yoga900x400

With the weekend drawing to a wind down, it’s time for some more class preparation.  Next on the list, give the new mats some love.  I’m mixing several drops of patchouli oil in hot water and using a couple of cotton towels to cleanse and then dry the mats, with the intention of bringing to any students who use them the best of my good vibes.

Not too sure if the aroma will stick around on the mats (if it doesn’t it will be extremely mild, so to not put you off your yoga practice) but I feel intentions make the world of difference to both the giver and the receiver; they ultimately become the backbone of what you do and how you do it.  I hope you can all feel the love.   In the words of the great John Lennon ‘All you need is Love’ (and of course air, food and water I hear a few cynics say; but if everyone has love for everyone, then there is ALWAYS more than enough to go around). J

A teeny bit more motive behind my use of patchouli oil:

Technically we have 5 senses (6 if you include the intuitive sense modern day science is still trying to get a handle on), smell being one of them.  Healing, stimulation, calming and exciting can all be invoked within us using one of our senses – i.e. we see or hear an artist’s creation on canvas or vinyl or perhaps even just the taste of a rich, dark (fairly traded) chocolate soothing ones soul.  Smells too help us to achieve different states of being.  From the little I have picked up by being around my cousin and my best friend, who are both fabulous massage therapists and adept with the scented world of essential oils, I am intrigued by the power of smells (preferably the more pleasant ones).  Thus I chose patchouli oil to prepare the mats with because of its grounding and uplifting nature, having no contraindications for known groups of people and generally, I find it very balancing.  This also aligns well with my intention for what yoga can bring into a community such as ours.

This is where I got mine in case you are interested 🙂
