The whole truth, or only the inspirational parts?

partwhole

Being an instructor, teacher, coach or therapist puts one in a position where your clients want to listen to what you say.  Be it about how to move more freely with consciousness, how to balance your diet or, whatever the subject matter may be, it is an honor to be in such a position.  However, with this comes a responsibility to be ultra conscious about what you say, regardless whether you’re expressing opinions or facts about your chosen subject or way of living.

The question I have is how do we balance being authentic with our clients, whilst still maintaining the ability to stay up-beat and ‘positive’, even when we may feel like curling up and having a cry? (Obvs within moderation with everyone, not just clients!)

Would it be incorrect of me as a yoga instructor to share my flaws when they arise? Or as a nutritionist (in the making) to share my challenges in maintaining optimal nutritional health?  Am I being genuine with my clients if I only show them the best of me and hide the things which have made me compassionate in the first place?

What is the most important thing to share with your clients?  Is it the whole truth so they can see you’re not so different?  Or only share the ‘lighter’ side?

Everyday Learning

p

Everyday I’m feeling, is everyday I’m learning

Everyday I’m judging, is everyday I’m expanding my compassion

Everyday I’m expanding, I need to recognise What these feelings mean..

Everyday I’m feeling scared, loved, hateful, joyous, alone or connected

Everyday I’m experiencing life to the best of my intention

Sahasrara Chakra

Sahasrara

Moving up from Ajna Chakra..

Sahasrara chakra, the crown chakra, the last in our series looking at these 7 major, yogic (and Reiki) chakras.  Sahasrara meaning thousand fold and hence it’s symbolised by a 1000 petal lotus, located just above the crown of the head and is most associated organ is the Pineal gland.  It’s element goes even less tangible and is thought, thus it’s purpose is understanding and spirituality.  The colour for this chakra varies much through different sources from violet, to white or gold; but my appreciation and experience keeps me feeling it as white.  It is here that this world/perception meets with the wider universe and it is here we are able to feel that anything is possible if we choose to allow it; depending on what thoughts we feel we must hang on to also..

Balanced action in Sahasrara chakra may exhibit in a person as:

  • Intelligence, thoughtfulness and awareness
  • Being open-minded and confidence in questioning
  • Spiritual connection
  • Perceptiveness with wisdom

A deficiency in Sahasrara chakra however, can be seen as a person with:

  • Rigid belief systems
  • May have excess in lower chakras as energy is blocked from going up (e.g. greed, aggression, materialism)
  • A lack of interest or concern outside of themselves
  • Spiritually cynical

An excess in Sahasrara chakra may attribute to:

  • Spiritual addiction or head in the clouds
  • Overly intellectual, always over thinking
  • Confusion
  • Dissociation from the body/physical plane

Balancing or healing practices can be found in meditation, yoga (to either reconnect with different chakras), Reiki/Seichem, studying, becoming aware of where one may be too mentally rigid (talking therapies can help this).

I hope this might help the MASSIVE world of chakras to have a concise and tangible handle for anyone wishing to seek a little more balance in life.  If you wish to discuss the yoga course, Reiki/Seichem or other then my inbox is always open. 🙂

Much love, balance and harmony! x

Happy Easter? Pascha? Passover? Chocolate Egg Day?. Holidays!!

Easter

Personally, I was bought up as a Catholic.  Thus Easter was boring with lots of church visits but balanced out by chocolate bribes.

As I’ve grown through life I’ve learnt I’m not much a fan of organised religion, and although I believe that like Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna and such, Jesus was a real man who left parables in an attempt to point at something divine.  I don’t however believe in heaven and hell, except that which we create for ourselves in our own minds; but I do respect that everyone believes in what they feel is right, organised religion may feel good to you and I respect that too.

Easter for me now, is a great time when I can spend some more time with the people I love and choose to be around.  Thus, I wish all people, (whatever it is you celebrate, love, family, suffering, God, chocolate, bunnies, the Sun) a VERY exciting Easter Holiday time.

We’re also between a lunar (moon 14/04/14) and solar (sun 29/04/14) eclipses right now, a powerful time of year for all!

The Gift of Teaching

 Teaching

It’s such a privilege to be able to teach anyone anything; the art of sharing by example (we’re all teachers of some form or another).

My aim for teaching is to offer my perspective on how I live with regards to what has bought me the most growth and/or joy, with the simple intention to highlight things to individuals which may promote growth and inspiration in their core.  To me, teaching is an offering, an offering of what one has in their soul, something one feels is worth sharing for the benefit of others.

Trial and error is one of the biggest teachers and no one can substitute ones own internal guru; however when our internal guru may become cloudy or a bit bogged down, I’ve always been grateful for having another’s pointing me in some direction so that I may again, find my way (even if at the time my ego may have hated them for it!).

Much love and gratitude to all those who continually keep shining a light on my path and who allow me to shine a light on theirs.

Namaste xx

Suppressing Expressing

suppress

I can’t stand to look at their faces,

Avoid absorbing all the pain out in these places.

Why do they have to look like that?

I wonder why that guy is so fat?

That girl is well skinny, more like a rake.

O yes and she’s another covered in fake.

Why’s that guy’s face so red, and her eyes all black?

I’m not sure what their doing to make themselves look like that..

What are they eating?  What are they wearing?

What on Earth is it that they’re hearing?

Why everyday do I go out of my way

To suppress what I feel someone must say?

Why are you unhappy?  Why are you so sad?

There’s not an ounce in you that can be all that bad..

Your body may be heavy but your eyes still seem bright;

Please now reconsider this ridiculous fight.

The fight with yourself and the fight with your heart;

Do you not realise that you can’t live apart?

Your heart knows the truth, it’s easy you’ll see;

Let down your guard to who it’s urging you to be.

What we give we get back,

It is as easy as that.

Dominate, control,  and selfish greed;

Lusting after unnecessary ‘need’;

Give out sh*t, and that’s all we see.

Completely missing how amazing life can be..

Peace, Love, Shine

What a weekend…. New Moon Happy Mothers Day too!

wicked

Spring has it’s way of getting things to freshen up, move along and get the party starting..

With the New Moon in Aries today, Mothers day in the UK, rounding up to my last week of full-time ‘in the system’ working, expanding my family (a brother rather than a baby, not quite ready for motherhood yet!), meeting some fabulous, intelligent and spiritual lovers, and feeling all star-struck by being in the same space as the beautiful Johnny Depp; it really is time to lay down those intentions for the next month..

What do I want to create from here?.

How can I best fulfill my life for the good and love of our universal, global consciousness?

Time to meditate as there’s no time to hesitate..  How best to let go, remembering you just gotta go with the flow..

Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.  Much love  xx

Building life a new

Change

Nutrition, movement, fitness and food have been fastidious points in my life since I can remember.  How exciting it feels for me to be working with them in a more organised and structured manner!  As well as having the potential to not only further optimise my own condition, but the general health of others too!

By working with my TRUE passions and my husband and community; I am finally able to let go of my financial safety blanket (which I am very grateful to have had); checking out of the full-time office role and into following my excitement!  I feel very blessed and grateful for this opportunity I’ve created along with much support from my husband, you and everyone else in this community, and believe strongly that when following ones TRUE PASSION, with FOCUS, DEDICATION and FULL ATTENTION; we can literally achieve ANYTHING..

Much love & thanks

Focus and All WILL Come..

focuskyte2

What’s at the core of your desires?  What intention(s) are you focusing on? maybe take a few moments to reflect on this..

I have an experiment for you.  I’m doing it right now and it really works!

Bring one thing to mind; just ONE e.g. if you’re on your way somewhere, focus on being on your journey and getting to that place; or if you’re creating something, meditate on it so all your other mental distractions subside for that moment.

Then, be with this one things and stay focused on it.  With this focused intention, NOTHING will get in your way..

Clearly, if you have many life aims, you’ll want to change your focus at times, but intend to keep to the one thing which feels the most relevant in each moment and you’ll get there sooner than you think 😉

In order for this to work, remember, just one thing at the time and let go of all your other background intentions; allow the subconscious to work it’s magic on them..

Be careful what you wish for…. 😉
